Intersections
Life is not linear.
An endless straight line leads nowhere; following it accomplishes nothing.
In tandem, we cannot see the other.
Parallel lines are only the sum of their parts.
The fence stands perpendicular to the earth.
At the intersections, soil holds wood and wood braces itself
And the land is protected.
The railing sits lies perpendicular to the balusters
The balusters stand perpendicular to the steps
At the intersections, the stairway holds, strong and safe
And you can climb upward.
The storm blows perpendicular to the sky; the snow falls perpendicular to the earth
At the intersections, the world is covered.
First to sleep, then to flower in the face of drought.
Backward to go forward.
Stopping to be instead of dying to live.
Life is not linear.
Birth, breath, movement, being
At the intersections, the world is.
